Supporting Hope Through the Middle East Emergency Appeal

Muslim Aid was set up in 1985 by community leaders representing 17 Islamic organizations in the UK in response to the drought in the Horn of Africa.
They are a British-based international Christian charity helping people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or who suffer from poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, discrimination, homelessness, debt, unemployment, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
They develop long term development programs to provide sustainable living for underprivileged communities and natural disasters as well as delivering immediate relief. They fill several niches and highlight special areas such as capacity building, economic empowerment, education and enhancing child and women health.

Middle East Emergency Appeal
The continuing fighting has plunged the Middle East into a humanitarian catastrophe. What began as targeted strikes has evolved into a broad, multi-front conflict that is tearing apart neighborhoods, displacing millions and collapsing vital services.

A Region in Crisis
In just a matter of weeks, more than three million people have been displaced across the region. Entire communities have been uprooted, with families seeking safety wherever they can, crowding into schools, mosques, and makeshift shelters.
Across Yemen, Palestine, Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria, essential infrastructure is collapsing. Power outages have shut down water systems, leaving millions without safe drinking water. Hospitals are overwhelmed and running out of fuel, medicine, and supplies, while outbreaks of disease are beginning to spread in overcrowded camps.
With key trade routes disrupted and access severely restricted, food and other necessities are becoming increasingly scarce. For many families, each day is a struggle to survive.

Emergency Response
Long, laborious travels bring freshly displaced families to the Syria-Lebanon border, where they are immediately assisted with ready-to-eat meals, bread and clean drinking water. In Lebanon, assistance is reaching families taking refuge in congested classrooms and public places, with mattresses, blankets and hot meals trying to restore a sense of dignity and relief.
Families in Gaza have lost practically everything. Their staff are delivering hot meals, food boxes, clean water and medical care so parents can put food in front of their children and get through another day. Every delivery is a lifeline for families who have been relocated again and again.
Renewed warfare in Yemen is causing families to flee their homes again. Many now live in makeshift camps with no food or water. They are assisting displaced families in conflict zones. They are engaging with individuals in a country that has already undergone years of war and is now running out of aid.
These fast interventions are meeting families when they are at their most vulnerable. But the resources are falling short of the needs.
