PEABODY — Local hairstylist Stephanie Agnetha will soon be working with a special client, a New York Fashion Week model.

The 26-year-old lifelong Peabody resident is co-owner of Salon CC and has done independent films, small TV shows and local hairs throughout her career. Now she’s working on her biggest project to date.

“I love doing my hair and the people you meet,” Agneta said.

The director of hair and makeup for New York Fashion Week messaged Agneta after spotting her work on Instagram. After her interview, she asked Agnetha to join a team of 30 other hairstylists working on a fashion show in the Big Apple from September 9-14.

Agneta will mostly be doing ponytails, beach waves, and other looks that fit the summer aesthetic of designer clothes. Often she goes very simple to compliment her fashion.

She hopes to be invited back to the next Fashion Week in New York in February.

“The week is avant-garde style,” Agnetha said. “It has a dramatic, artistic look, and I especially like sculpture.”

Agneta started her career through the cosmetology program at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. After graduating in 2014, she opened Salon CC with her mother, Rochelle Agnetha.

Rochelle Agneta herself is not a hairdresser. She originally owned an oil company that she started from scratch, but she always dreamed of owning a spa.Her daughter completed her cosmetology program at Peabody High School, which she returned to school for. I learned how to do my nails.

Eight years later, the salon and spa moved to a larger location at 58 Mills on Pulaski Street and now employs 18 stylists. In addition to hair and nails, Salon CC offers skin care, massage therapy, and spray tanning.

“It’s like one big family,” says Rochelle Agneta. “I really like what I do and love being able to add something.”

Her daughter has a lot of clients, and if she has to leave home to take a bigger chance, so be it, she said.

“I hate to see her venture to the point of leaving me and moving to California, but if she does, it will be,” she said. And I’m so proud of her, she’s done more in eight years than some girls have done in 30 years.”

Stephanie Agneta’s experience includes an apprenticeship as a hair stylist on the TV series ‘The Old Man’. She also works as a hairstylist for a film shot by a graduate student at Endicott College before the pandemic began.

“There are so many other avenues a hairdresser can take. When people come in, they get a license, sit in the back of a chair, and take clients 12 hours a day, six days a week.” I think I’m thinking,” she said.

“You grind all the time,” she continued. “So if you have the opportunity to work onstage or backstage or do hair and makeup for a small independent film or TV show, it’s really cool to be a part of it and see the big picture at the end. “
